WHAT IS MINERVA SAFETY MANAGEMENT EDUCATION?

Minerva is a not for profit corporation dedicated to improving business effectiveness and reducing injuries through Safety Management Education. Minerva's vision is that tomorrow's leaders will strive for excellence in Occupational Health and Safety as an essential component of their corporate management .We target tomorrow's leaders by encouraging colleges and universities to embed safety management education into the Core Curricula of business and engineering programs. Minerva Canada is also extending itself to health care teaching institutions to promote more health and safety education into their curriculum.

WHY DO WE DO THIS?

The need for Minerva is clear. Each year thousands of workers are injured on the job and the human and economic costs are compelling. At any given time 8 to 12% of the workforce is incapacitated because of lost time injuries. Billions of dollars are lost in benefit payments, health care expenses, and reduced productivity.

Research has consistently shown that effective and productive organizations have a CEO and Senior Team who understand the benefits of Safety, Health and Environmental Management and are committed to it. Safety Management Education is a cornerstone of leading corporations.

At Minerva we target future leaders through their Colleges and University education. Safety Management Education is the right way to go, and the right thing to do.
